Guess what? Leanna and I moved to the Las Vegas market! Moving to Las Vegas was a bit of a surprise for us too, but we moved for a variety of reasons. Two of the main reasons were proximity to family and a bigger real estate market.
If you’re new around here, We run The Carson Group which is a real estate investment firm specializing in single family homes, condos, and townhomes! We did 20 deals year to date and we are looking to double that over the next year!
Family Means Everything
I’m not going to lie, being closer to family was a major driving factor for moving to Las Vegas. The opportunity is great for real estate but the idea of actually having family dinners and being 10 minutes away is something we have always talked about.
The last few weeks here has really opened my eyes to what is important in life and seeing Leanna light up has been such a joy. I can tell we both needed this in order to grow and become better people.
Growing As People
Leanna and I reached a point where we were starting to feel comfortable and we both knew internally that once you are comfortable, you stop growing.
We looked at each other and said, should we be moving to Las Vegas? The answer was YES.
The details came later, but it really was that simple! No one really believed us at first when we started telling family about the possibility because it just seemed too drastic.
I don’t blame anyone for thinking that! It really is something Leanna and I would do though. If you know us, you know we crave growth and we adventure! We even put it in our vows at the wedding to always seek adventure.
I can tell you this, COVID has opened my eyes to how things really work in life. At ANY moment your life can change. But I also think that is the point of life. We are meant to grow as a species and evolve.
I believe, when we stop growing we stop enjoying life. Life is meant to be full of adventure and we chose to take a leap of faith and believe in ourselves! This was the right move for us and we can’t wait to explode our businesses!
Moving To Las Vegas (Large Market) From Reno (Midsize Market)
Reno-Sparks and the surrounding areas are technically considered a mid-size market because the population size is relatively small compared to places like Vegas. A big difference in competition.
We made 30 offers in the past week and not one of them was accepted. Keep in mind real estate investing is a numbers game and with the market being so hot right now (blog post coming later next week about this) it’s hard to find solid deals at the right price.
The crazy thing is when I say competition here, I am not even referring to other investors! The cash buyers coming from California are INSANE. They are making offers on homes that they can gut and remodel to make it theirs and they are paying cash.
The beautiful thing about this market is there are so many homes on the market in Las Vegas compared to Reno that deals will come and with a little patience, we will double our revenue.
We are so excited to get to work and we look forward to working with all our new Vegas connections! As usual, if you have a deal for us, we will buy them and we will give you the listing if you’re a realtor!
